
Kori Harms
MHC INTERN
Kori Harms is a compassionate and client-centered therapist who is passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve their personal goals. She is working towards her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Buena Vista University with an anticipated graduation date of June 2027.
Kori has experience working with trauma, crisis de-escalation, sexual assault, domestic violence, youth with behavioral issues, and the foster care system. She recently began her practicum and internship at Walnut Creek Psychiatry. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including feminist theory, existential therapy, compassion-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, and CBT. She has experience supporting clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, behavioral challenges, boundaries, and family dynamics, including foster parenting and adoption.
Kori’s goal is to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey. Outside of the office, Kori enjoys home improvement projects, documentaries, vegetarian food, and local events. She also enjoys spending time with her children, friends, and her two small dogs, Frida and Hester.
