
Deanna Lassegard

Deanna is a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional who has always had a passion for helping others. Born and raised in Ames, she pursued her love for psychology at Iowa State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Her journey continued at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she earned her Master’s in Social Work with a clinical focus in 2012.
With a wealth of experience in foster care, hospice care, and substance use disorders, Deanna has worked in diverse settings, including a methadone clinic in Baltimore. She has also served as a crisis counselor and mental health therapist, using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy to support her clients.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Deanna has a deep interest in Internal Family Systems and Compassionate Inquiry, always striving to create a safe, supportive space for individuals on their path to healing. She is committed to helping people navigate life’s challenges with empathy, insight, and a personalized approach to care.
