We're Here to Help You Continue Your Care

At Walnut Creek Psychiatry, our priority has always been providing compassionate, consistent care for our patients and their families. We want to make you aware of an upcoming insurance network change and, most importantly, help you understand your options.

Iowa Total Care has made the decision to end its contract with Walnut Creek Psychiatry. As a result, our last day of providing care to patients covered by Iowa Total Care will be December 1, 2026.

We want to reassure our patients that this decision was not related to the quality of care we provide or any disciplinary matter. This was a business decision made solely by Iowa Total Care, and we did not choose to leave their provider network.

We understand this news may be frustrating, and we're committed to helping families navigate the transition as smoothly as possible.

You May Be Able to Keep Your Care with Walnut Creek Psychiatry

If you would like to continue receiving care from our providers, you may have the option to switch to another Iowa Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO).

According to the Iowa Total Care Member Handbook, members may request a change in MCO when their provider is no longer participating in their current plan. Because Walnut Creek Psychiatry is no longer participating with Iowa Total Care, you may qualify to change plans outside of the normal open enrollment period.

How to Continue Your Care

Step 1: Contact Iowa Medicaid Member Services

Call Iowa Medicaid Member Services and let them know you would like to change your Managed Care Organization because Walnut Creek Psychiatry is no longer participating with Iowa Total Care.

Before you call, have your Medicaid ID number available and ask when your new coverage will become effective so there is no interruption in care.

Step 2: Select an MCO That Includes Walnut Creek Psychiatry

You may choose a Managed Care Organization that continues to include Walnut Creek Psychiatry in its provider network.
