MSN, ARNP, PMHNP - BC

Maxton Cook, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare. Throughout his career, he has served as a Paramedic, Registered Nurse, and now a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, bringing a broad clinical perspective and a deep commitment to compassionate patient care.

A long-term resident of central Iowa, Maxton is proud to serve the community he calls home. He provides psychiatric care for adolescents and adults ages 12 and older, focusing on creating a welcoming, respectful environment where patients feel heard, valued, and supported.

Maxton believes that mental health care should be as unique as the individuals seeking it. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, he develops personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's goals, experiences, and needs. His practice emphasizes evidence-based care, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes. Maxton is dedicated to empowering patients on their mental health journey by building trusting relationships and providing compassionate, individualized care that supports long-term wellness and addresses the root causes.
